About Me
My name is Shey Kirwin and I was born and raised in Naples, FL. I have four amazing parents and four younger siblings, who I love spending time with. I am currently a Junior studying Interior Architecture and Design at Florida State University. Before attending Florida State University, I played volleyball in high school and appeared in the state finals three times. I also played on a travel volleyball team for several years which allowed me to travel to many major cities around the country. When traveling for tournaments, I found myself more excited to explore the cities I played in than to play volleyball. This only further enhanced my love for design and architecture. Growing up in Naples exposed me to interior design due to the incredible beachfront houses. Many members of my family are in the design world so it was always around me. My father is a landscape architect in Naples, as a child, I visited his job sites, watched him render, and design amazing spaces for his clients. I had such a fascination with the design world that I knew that I was going to pursue a career in design at a young age. When I traveled for volleyball or family vacations I focused on how spaces looked and felt. But I would always watch others react to spaces differently than I did often not paying as much attention as I did to these spaces. That feeling made me realize that I could make interior design my career. Design started as something some of my family did, then turned into a fascination when traveling or visiting my dad at work. Now I am turning my dream into a career, which is something I could’ve never imagined as a child. Design will forever be part of me and is the biggest part of my life.
